Play Group: A Fun-Filled Start to Learning

The Play Group program at Manipal Pre-School is designed for young children, typically between the ages of 2 to 3 years. At this crucial stage of early development, our focus is on providing a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment where children can explore, learn, and socialize through play.

The curriculum is play-based, ensuring that learning takes place in a fun and interactive way. Children are encouraged to express themselves creatively and develop foundational skills in language, motor coordination, and social interaction. Activities include simple puzzles, building blocks, arts and crafts, music, and movement, all aimed at stimulating cognitive development while fostering independence and confidence.

The Play Group program also helps children develop essential social skills such as sharing, taking turns, and building friendships. Teachers offer personalized attention to ensure that each child’s unique needs are met, providing a strong foundation for their future educational journey. By combining structured learning with free play, MPS ensures that children not only learn important skills but also enjoy the process of discovery and growth.

This early learning experience at MPS prepares children for the next stages of their educational journey, helping them transition smoothly into more formal learning environments in the future.

Lower Kindergarten Program: Building a Strong Foundation for Learning

The Lower Kindergarten (LKG) program at Manipal Pre-School is designed for children aged 3 to 4 years. This stage serves as a critical bridge between early play-based learning and more structured academic education. At MPS, our LKG program emphasizes the holistic development of children, nurturing their academic, social, emotional, and creative skills.

The curriculum combines engaging activities with foundational learning in key areas such as language, mathematics, and environmental awareness. Children are introduced to alphabets, numbers, basic shapes, colors, and concepts through interactive lessons and hands-on activities. Storytelling, rhymes, and music are integrated into the program to enhance communication skills and ignite a love for learning.

In addition to academics, the program promotes physical development through activities such as games, yoga, and outdoor play, which help improve motor skills, coordination, and overall health. Creative expression is encouraged through arts, crafts, and role-playing activities that stimulate imagination and problem-solving abilities.

The LKG program also focuses on instilling social skills such as teamwork, sharing, and following instructions. Teachers provide personalized attention to ensure that every child feels valued and supported in their learning journey. The nurturing environment at MPS fosters confidence, curiosity, and independence, helping children build a strong foundation for the Upper Kindergarten stage and beyond.

At MPS, the Lower Kindergarten program is not just about preparing children for academic success but also about shaping them into well-rounded individuals ready to face future challenges with confidence.

Upper Kindergarten Program: Preparing for Academic Excellence and Beyond

The Upper Kindergarten (UKG) program at Manipal Pre-School is designed for children aged 4 to 5 years, focusing on building advanced skills that prepare them for formal schooling. This stage serves as the final step in early childhood education, emphasizing academic readiness, personal development, and holistic growth.

The UKG curriculum integrates structured learning with interactive activities to enhance children’s understanding of core concepts in language, mathematics, and environmental studies. Children learn to read simple words, form sentences, and improve handwriting through fun and engaging exercises. In mathematics, they grasp basic arithmetic operations, patterns, and measurements, laying a strong foundation for future problem-solving skills.

To foster creativity and critical thinking, the program includes storytelling, art, craft, music, and role-play activities. These not only boost imagination but also encourage self-expression and confidence. Physical development is supported through games, yoga, and outdoor activities, promoting motor skills, coordination, and overall fitness.

The UKG program also places significant emphasis on social and emotional growth. Children learn essential life skills such as teamwork, leadership, responsibility, and empathy. Teachers provide individualized attention to ensure that every child progresses at their own pace while feeling motivated and supported.

At MPS, the Upper Kindergarten program is more than just an academic preparation. It is a comprehensive approach to nurturing young minds, helping children become independent, confident, and curious learners, ready to transition seamlessly into primary school and embrace new challenges with enthusiasm.
